The Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced targeted attacks on Israeli forces in Jabalia and Beit Lahyia amidst ongoing military operations in northern Gaza.
According to the Qassam Brigades, its fighters targeted two Israeli Merkava tanks at the Infant Junction in central Beit Lahia and another using a Shawaaz explosive device west of Jabalia Camp. The group also reported striking an Israeli personnel carrier with a 105-mm Al-Yassin shell near the Tamraz Station in Jabalia and claimed responsibility for the sniper killings of two Israeli soldiers on Abu Al-Aish Street in central Jabalia.
Meanwhile, the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, stated that its fighters successfully sniped an Israeli soldier near the Energy Zone east of Gaza City. The group also reported shelling Israeli soldiers and vehicles with mortar fire near the Burj Awad Junction in Rafah’s Al-Janina neighborhood.
On Wednesday, Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported three civilian massacres attributed to Israeli military actions, resulting in 30 deaths and 84 injuries over the past 24 hours. The Ministry added that the death toll from the Israeli offensive, which began on 7 October 2023, has now reached 44,532, with over 105,538 injuries.
In related developments, Israel Hayom reported progress in negotiations over a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas. An Israeli delegation may travel to Cairo in the coming days to advance talks, contingent on Hamas’s response to an Egyptian-mediated proposal. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority confirmed that any potential delegation visit would depend on the outcomes of these discussions.
