Dubai’s urban parks and recreation areas welcomed more than 31 million visitors in 2024, a seven per cent increase compared to the previous year, according to the emirate’s municipality. Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS, reported the visitor figures.

Public parks attracted the highest number of visitors, with 20.8 million recorded. Dubai’s five largest parks – Zabeel, Mushrif, Al Mamzar Beach, Dubai Creek, and Safa – welcomed a total of 6.69 million guests. The Quranic Park recorded 1.8 million visitors, while the Dubai Frame saw 1.59 million. Additionally, nearly 1.5 million people used cycling tracks, mountain biking trails and walking paths in the parks.

Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency, said the visitor numbers “reflect the appeal of Dubai’s public parks and facilities as dynamic leisure and tourism destinations, designed to meet the highest international standards.” He added, “Our approach ensures that these spaces serve as integrated models of sustainability and inclusivity, enhancing the overall quality of life in Dubai.”

In 2024, the municipality organised 1,283 events, including festivals, sports competitions and fairs. Authorities also implemented sustainable projects and upgraded facility management systems, improving efficiency to 98 per cent.
