CBE reports EGP 40.3bn in net profit for August 2025

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) recorded net profits of EGP 40.346bn in August 2025, a significant increase from EGP 12.331bn in July, according to the bank’s latest financial statements.

Total equity rose to EGP 177.345bn in August, up from EGP 149.168bn the previous month. Despite the profit surge, total assets declined slightly to EGP 6.117trn, compared to EGP 6.206trn in July.

The Central Bank’s capital remained steady at approximately EGP 21.600bn, while reserves reached EGP 407.876bn.

The CBE’s total contributions to the capital of international financial institutions climbed to EGP 33.544bn in August, up from EGP 31.977bn in July. Meanwhile, contributions to the capital of subsidiary and affiliated companies remained unchanged at EGP 90.341bn.

The value of the CBE’s gold holdings, included in its foreign currency reserves, rose to EGP 683.576bn in August, compared with EGP 662.997bn in the previous month.
