If the belly dancing suit fits, wear it

You may think it’s really silly, but trust me, you’ll never know how good it feels to dance in a belly dancing suit until you actually do it.

Belly dancing is a whole new experience that does not only contribute to our never-ending struggle to lose weight, but it also boosts your mood and make you feel sexy.

Indigenous to the Middle East, especially Egypt it is a great way to exercise as it has you moving all the muscles of your stomach. It also feels good just looking at yourself in the glittery, flowing outfit, sequined with colorful shiny beads in different designs.

Khan El Khalili is the best place to shop for one priced anywhere from LE 100 to LE 600, depending on the amount and originality of the beading.

There is also a modern replica of Khan El Khalili at City Stars Mall in Nasr City that carries the coveted suits, but at much higher prices.

A salesman at Khan El Khalili said that most young women, from different economic and social classes, buy belly dancing suits before getting married to wear them for their husbands.

I wasn’t surprised because I too bought around seven belly dancing suits to wear for my husband when I was going to get married a year ago.

Even though I didn’t get married, I still wear them whenever I feel like belly dancing. (My ex-fiancé will never find out what he’s missing.)

Belly dancing classes are offered in most aerobics and gyms in Cairo.
