Barclays Bank Egypt supports residents of Kafret Nassar

CAIRO: Barclays Bank Egypt celebrated the 12th year of the inauguration of its voluntary universal campaign under the slogan “Make a Difference Day. This year the event was held at Kafret Nassar, Giza where the bank is supporting the residents through the restoration of a health unit.

Last year, more than 11,700 staff members in 25 countries participated in the campaign, helping 120,000 individuals of local communities.

This year’s activities included the restoration and cleaning of a health unit in Kafret Nassar in addition to planting the surrounding area. Previously, the bank had donated LE 380,000 to carry out a renovation project in the same area. The renovations included providing furniture and medical equipment for a health facility in Kafret Nassar.

The bank inaugurated the health unit in April 2006, and the center now serves over 55,000 residents from Kafret Nassar and surrounding neighborhoods.

Also part of the bank’s efforts during “Make a Difference Day, volunteers helped restore a youth center in Tosson, Alexandria. This was carried out by partnering with a local NGO – the Youth Association for Population and Development. Tosson is one of the most impoverished and densely populated areas in Alexandria, and suffers from a number of social ailments including drug use, violence, pollution, and unemployment.
