CAIRO: Allegria, a residential development project created by SODIC, has received an award of merit for its master plan from the American Society of Landscape Architects.
The master plan was developed by world-renowned master planners EDAW.
The award ceremony was held last month at the Center for Architecture n New York and the award was received on behalf of Allegria by Matt Sybert of EDAW New York.
SODIC is the first Egyptian company to receive this award.
“It’s an honor to win this award, but without creative clients we would not have great projects. Allegria is a community-based project with an exceptional location and environment, and we are very grateful to SODIC for believing in us, said Gus Robertson, who directs the design studio in EDAW’s New York office.
The American Society of Landscape Architects was founded in 1899 representing landscape architects in 42 countries worldwide. The ASLA annual awards are given in a variety of categories.
Allegreia is an upscale residential project on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert highway, covering 2.38 million square meters. It features expansive landscaped greenery, a signature 18-hole Greg Norman golf course and a 32000 square meter clubhouse, as well as more than 1,000 luxury villas and townhouses.
