CAIRO: Acer, a Taiwanese multinational electronics manufacturer, saw strong growth in its financial results for the first half of 2008.
Consolidated revenue came in at $8.14 billion, up 31 percent over the previous year.
Acer s profit after tax was $189.66 million, compared to 2007’s figure of $246.76 million.
The second quarter of 2008 saw consolidated revenue of $4.03 billion, representing 34 percent year-on-year growth. Profit after tax was $94.38 million, compared to $64.01 million during the same period last year.
Acer holds around 21 percent of the market share in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region in the notebook sector.
