CAIRO: A team of Egyptian doctors at the Mansoura Public Hospital in Daqahleya successfully separated two Egyptian eight-month-old conjoined twin boys on Sunday.
The twins were joined at the bottom of the backbone, shared genitals, had one penis and three testicles.
Daqahleya governor, Samir Salam, commended the “unprecedented medical procedure, in a special celebration.
“This achievement was accomplished because the doctors worked as one team and all decisions taken were based on correct and planned scientific thinking, Salam said.
The governorate pledged to provide the twins’ family with all necessary financial aid and medical care until it guarantees that the two baby boys are in a stable condition.
