The Al Quos prosecutor’s office in Qena has ordered the detention of Hammouda Abdel Fatah Abdel Karim, 32, for killing his wife and mother pending his examination by psychiatrists who will determine whether he is mentally fit to stand trial, Al Masry Al Youm reported.

The murders of Aisha Mohammed Hussein, 28, and her mother-in-law Rawhiya Al Amin Abdel Fatah, 55, were reported to the Qena prosecution department. The murderer, who has been under severe stress for quite some time, has confessed to have contemplated the murder of his mother and his wife to whom he has been married for the last ten years.

He got hold of an axe and started hitting them, unmindful of their screams and cries for help. He threatened to kill anyone who dared to interfere.

Hammouda said that if they came back to life he would kill them again and again as well as the rest of his family so that he could live in peace.

His father, Abdel Fatah Abdel Karim, 55, revealed that his son had been receiving treatment for the last ten years but his case did not improve. He would sometimes get fits violence without realizing what he was doing.
