CAIRO: Mohamed Shawky’s move to Belgian side Lierse suddenly fell though after both parties failed to reach an agreement over the transfer fee, agent Nader Shawki said on Saturday.

A day earlier, Shawki said the former Ahly ace was close to signing for Lierse, saying their talks were ‘at an advanced stage’.

But eventually the negotiations reached a dead end and now Shawky is considering his options in Turkey and homeland Egypt.

"The deal collapsed because of a disagreement over the fee," agent Shawki told FilGoal.com.

"Shawky is looking into the other offers he received. He could either return to Egypt or Turkey.

"A final decision will be made within the next few days."

Shawky has become a free agent since terminating his contract with Kayserispor by mutual consent early in July, only after spending six months at the Turkish side.

Egyptian champions Ahly are understood to be interested in re-signing the midfielder.
