BAGHDAD: A policeman was killed and 26 people were wounded, including six security force members, in three blasts on Friday in Baghdad, an interior ministry official said.

In the western Baghdad junction of Al-Talaa, a policeman was killed by a roadside bomb which exploded near a police patrol. Three civilians and two policemen were wounded in the attack.

Also in the west of the capital, six people were wounded, including two soldiers, by a bomb targeting an army patrol in Khadra.

Two policemen and 13 civilians were wounded, meanwhile, in the north Baghdad area of Aden by a roadside bomb against police.

About 10,000 Iraqi soldiers and policemen have been killed since the US-led invasion in 2003 to oust Saddam Hussein. Security forces are often targeted by insurgents for their perceived support for invading forces.
