Kuwaiti exports to Egypt stand at $46.2 million annually, most of which are oil derivatives, said the head of the Egyptian trade representation office on Monday.

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Kuwait is increasing nearly 15.9 percent each year, Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Alim said.

According to statistics, the two-way trade between the two countries rose from $247.1 million in 2007 to $286.5 million in 2008, he said.

Meanwhile, Kuwait imports from Egypt are mainly food products, cooking ovens and power cables, he said. Egypt also exports to the oil-rich Gulf country refrigerators and air conditioners, he noted.
