Accor Egypt says hotels operating fully

CAIRO: Accor Group said its hotels in Egypt continued to operate during the recent events with all available staff in the country, according to a statement.

“The group will continue in the market with its plans to strengthen and further reinforce its growth in Egypt.

“Accor Group expresses its confidence that Egypt’s national economy and tourism industry will overcome the current turmoil and recent market difficulties based on its strong record,” the statement added.

Accor Egypt manages 18 hotels in nine cities: Cairo, Alexandria, Ismailia, Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh, Dahab, Taba, Luxor and Aswan.

All of the properties, employees and guests throughout Egypt are safe, the group said, adding that it is responsible for securing its the workforce of 5,000 employees.

“Egypt enjoys geographic, historical and natural advantages that have and always will make it a significant destination for tourists from all over the world. These advantages ensure that Egypt’s tourism industry will recover from current market difficulties.”

The group also its “condolences to casualties, injured citizens or damages in the country during these difficult times.”
