Egypt sells LE 6 bln in T-bills, yields rise

CAIRO: Egypt’s Ministry of Finance said the central bank sold LE 6 billion ($1.007 billion) in domestic treasury bills on Sunday, the same amount it had offered.

The central bank sold LE 2.5 billion of 91-day T-bills on behalf of the Finance Ministry at an average yield of 11.995 percent, up from 11.874 percent at last week’s auction.

The bank also sold LE 3.5 billion of 266-day T-bills at an average yield of 12.943 percent, up from 12.816 percent at the last issue on July 12.
