CAIRO: Former Arab League Chief Amr Moussa, a leading candidate in Egypt’s presidential elections, says Syrian regime change is inevitable, but hopes it won’t be Libya-style where NATO strikes helped topple the regime.

Moussa told Associated Press on Saturday that what is happening in Syria now is part of “history in making,” as the whole region is changing drastically.

Moussa says it is “a matter of time” for the Syrian regime to fall because its the people who always have “the final word.”

Under Moussa, who served for a decade as the Arab League’s chief, the 22-member organization called on the world community to enforce a no-fly zone over Libya and acquiesced to the NATO operation that succeeded in helping the rebels overthrow Moammar Qaddafi.
