Three were killed in Fayoum on Friday morning in an explosion in a village in Fayoum in a facility believed to have been the site for the manufacturing of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Security forces moved to the village of Abu Kasah following the explosion to survey the area, according to state-owned MENA.

Police found approximately 20 explosive devices and were able to determine the death toll after finding the remains of those killed.

Thursday saw four explosions in the greater Cairo area, and an additional one later on Thursday evening on a train in Alexandria.

Earlier this week four IEDs were detonated in the immediate area of the Ittahadeya presidential palace, leaving two police officers dead.
