Itworx Education is to sign an agreement with the Ministry of Education to develop public schools using technology solutions provided by the company.
Hatem Salem, Itworx CEO, told Daily News Egypt the company and the Ministry of Education have agreed to use technological solutions, including applications and tablets, to develop the education system.
Salem revealed that the final contract would be signed within months, and the first phase would encompass 276 schools in various governorates across Egypt under the name ‘Supporting Schools’. The project’s goal is to increase technologically developed schools to 1,760 by the end of 2015.
According to a study conducted by the company, applying Itworx Education solutions in Egypt would not cost the state extra nor be a burden on parents. The study indicates that if only 10% of students paid EGP 90 per month, expenses for circulating technology at all public schools would be covered. The company also completed a survey showing that 70% of parents would be willing to pay the above-mentioned fee.
The company has offered its services for 15 years in various countries, including Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Norway, England, the US and Canada.
A few months ago, Microsoft named Itworx Education Microsoft’s best partner in the education sector in the world for 2013.
