Suez Cement will donate EGP 30m for the Tahya Misr fund during the coming three years. The figure will be divided to EGP 10m per year.
“As a leader in our field, we know that it is our duty to invest in a better Egypt. We are proud to be part of a national effort to support the Egyptian economy” said Bruno Carre, the company’s Managing director in Egypt.
Carre and Omar Mohanna, Suez Cement’s chairman, handed the first EGP 10m cheque to Prime Minister Ibrahim Melhleb early Thursday.
“We have made it our main goal to promote industrial development and economic performance as both a key employer and corporate citizen of Egypt,” Carre said, adding that the company feels that its donation ” will do just that and ensure that communities in need will receive much-needed support during these challenging times.”
The cement company, which is owned by Italian company Italcementi, is currently working on converting two new facilities in 2015, adding to two facilities converted in 2014.
