Two policemen were injured in an explosion that hit the Civil Protection headquarters in Alexandria Monday.
A homemade explosive device was planted in the civil protection headquarters and it exploded while the bomb squad consisting of a police officer and a policeman were trying to defuse the bomb, state newspaper Al-Ahram reported.
The Ministry of Interior did neither confirm nor deny the news, stating it would release a statement later.
Targeting security officers persists in Egypt through explosions and drive-by shootings since the removal of president Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood government in July 2013.
