Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali announced Monday the formation of a working group responsible for recording the losses of houses near the Al-Arish police station explosion, state news agency MENA reported.

The ministry’s preliminary investigations reported that the restoration of houses will cost between EGP 5,000 and EGP 25,000. A report regarding the losses is also being prepared for the ministry to deliver assistance to the families who were harmed by the incident.

Wali previously announced the allocation of EGP 10,000 to each family of the explosion’s martyrs, as well as the formation of a committee to identify the losses incurred in the station’s vicinity.

On Sunday, two explosions took place in North Sinai. The first occurred in the village of Qarn Al-Qawadis where six army personnel were killed and two injured, as announced by military spokesperson Mohamed Samir.

Later that day, a car bomb exploded at a military checkpoint in the North Sinai town of Al-Arish killing at least five policemen.
