Startup accelerator, Flat6Labs, approved 10 startups through its branch in Saudi Arabia. The new approved batch included projects offering educational programmes, recruitment systems, vocational guidance, recycling solutions, and programme solutions relying on cloud computing.
According to Ramez Mohamed, Flat6Labs CEO, the most prominent of the projects in this batch are Allemi, which aims at presenting interactive educational applications for children at the preschool age through the Internet and smartphones. Estikery is also a significant website, which offers e-commerce services for designers and photographers who create wall stickers. The list included also Vanoman, a company that presents a booking system through the Internet for transportation services.
Flat6Labs is a startup accelerator programme that aims at encouraging entrepreneurs to establish their own companies. The programme offers the basic funding and strategic guidance, in addition to the work environment for entrepreneurs with creative ideas. It was launched in Egypt in 2011, Jeddah and Saudi Arabia in 2013, in Abu Dhabi in 2014, and in the Lebanese capital Beirut at the start of 2015.
