Banking Institute, Cairo Chamber of Commerce sign MoU to train SMEs sector

The Egyptian Banking Institute and the Cairo Chamber of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to train small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs).

According to executive director of the Banking Institute Mona El-Baradei, they have special programmes for the development of SMEs, along with other public programmes for all economic activities.

They are keen to train banking staff to develop banking work in a manner that suits the requirements of this age. She said there is a package of training programmes, applied research, awareness campaigns, conferences, and seminars that contribute to the enrichment of banking staff’s skills and knowledge.

El-Baradei explained that the efforts of the Institute will develop financial products to suit the characteristics of SMEs and improve the performance of funding units for these projects in banks. It will also raise the capabilities and training of SMEs with the banking sector.

According to Deputy Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce Ali Shokry, cooperation with the Banking Institute will add new services to SMEs affiliated to the chamber to achieve development and growth.

Shokry explained that the first training courses, which will be held in cooperation with the Banking Institute, will include 150 young men and women from SMEs.
