The companies that qualified to implement the project approved to pay the ministry the specified sums for the studies after revising details of the contract. The ministry will then pay Hamza Consultants.

One company president told Daily News Egypt the topographical studies will cost approximately EGP 69,000 per company and the cost for the geotechnical studies are estimated at EGP 111,000 per company.

Fifteen companies have qualified in the previous tender to implement the project. The Ministry of Electricity will sign the contracts for the topographic and geotechnical studies with Hamza within days and they will be completed in 15 weeks.

The source said Hamza will get 40% of the contract value after the signing and beginning of implementation, followed by another 30% after the completion of work at the site, and will receive the final 30% after concluding the reports.

The companies also agreed to pay a total of €60,000 to the Renewable Energy Authority and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, where each company will pay €4,000 to buy the topographic scans and studies of the project.
