The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) announced that it will finance 78 graduation projects prepared by seniors of in Computer and Communications Engineering faculties across Egypt.
ITIDA has selected these 78 projects from a total of 187 projects submitted to the Information Technology Academia Collaboration (ITAC).
ITIDA also announced that it has started receiving a new batch of graduation projects seeking funding of EGP 10,000 at most per project, in order to support innovation and entrepreneurship.
Most of the selected projects came from the faculty of Computer and Communications Engineering in Cairo University, where 25 of the 50 projects submitted were selected for financing. In second place was the University of Menoufia which submitted 27 projects of which 10 were selected. Ain Shams University came in third place, where nine projects were selected among 17. 19 projects were submitted seeking funding from Helwan University and ITIDA picked six of them, putting it in the fourth place.
Selected projects from Cairo University focused on applications related to the Internet of Things. Two student projects won funding for base frequencies for networks of things. They aimed to solve communications problems with the Internet of Things, particularly for machine-to-machine application that requires a different level of Wi-Fi communications.
Ain Shams also submitted a number of innovative projects, including mini-sensor electro-mechanical systems and sophisticated radar systems for automatic car pilot.
Since the ITAC was launched in 2006, 1,728 projects were submitted seeking funding and 824 have received funding to bridge the gap between scientific research and the information technology industry.
