Once again, a parade of future brides and grooms will flock towards the annual event, Our Wedding Carnival (OWC). After three successful seasons, the special two-day event is back with an impressive schedule that covers all aspects of the wedding day.

“In a country like Egypt, weddings are of the utmost importance. In 2014, there were nearly one million marriages. This is a very attractive industry to local companies as well as foreign investors,” Managing Director of Red Square Sherif Ashraf said. “Our goal is to position Egypt as a major hub for the wedding industry in the region, and make OWC the number one destination for both exhibitors and visitors alike.”

Along with spectacular shows and a large array of exhibitors, the event’s crowning feature is an initiative which funds the wedding ceremonies of 20 different couples. In collaboration with Bedaya, OWC will be generously sponsoring 20 brides from less privileged areas of Egypt.

Bedaya is an NGO that was established by a number of young volunteers in 2000. Their main aim is to help girls and women in need, often orphaned, to get married and build a new life. As a result of the increasing number of families on the poverty line, Bedaya’s concept has developed to include medical care, food supplies, and clothes donations for poor families, as well as developing initiatives for underprivileged villages.

The carnival, taking place on 5 and 6 February, will feature several shows including a special performance courtesy of the “Abu Hafiza” show, by artist and comedian Akram Hosny, as well as Ahmed Essam’s spectacular fire show and Adrenaline’s one of a kind carnival parades.

As for fashion, this season is set to showcase the divine glamour of wedding apparel, featuring shows presented by Aire from Spain, Rosa Clara, Alura’s Bridal, Coquette Lingerie, the Jeweler, Lord Jewelry, and Glamour and Tuxedo. Furthermore, all attending brides will get a sneak peak of the latest beauty trends presented in an innovative makeup show by Mahmoud Morshed and hair show by Kriss.

This season’s list of exhibitors includes more than 150 participants, such as Mostafa El-Sallab for home interiors, Khattab for wedding invitations, SAIB Bank, Abu Auf, Modo Di Vita Furniture and American Mattress. OWC4 will also host travel agencies, Gazef and Hammock, for couples to plan and book their upcoming honeymoons.

Over these two days, DJs Khaled Hussain and Roro will be entertaining the crowds. Also in attendance are wedding planners Eman Shetta, Zuhour Beshir and FLickers by Dina Bakr to offer their expertise. Finally, the wedding cake specialist Shahdan, from Qatar, will present her new wedding tart, while Nola and The Batter Half and Co will dazzle visitors with their creative and delicious concepts.
