CAIRO: Ahly officials have resumed talks with defender Wael Gomaa and striker Osama Hosni in order to extend the pair s contracts with the club.
The Red Devils official website confirmed that assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri and marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi were assigned by the board to offer the duo new contracts.
Both players will be free agents by the end of the current season, and Ahly are keen to keep the two players and finalize all details within the next few weeks.
It s been suggested by the media that Gomaa asked for LE 1 million per season as a condition to pen a new contract, but the 34-year-old denied such reports.
I never asked for LE 1 million a season. We just decided to postpone the new contract s talk till after the club s commitments, Gomaa said last week.
