Some 6,000 people die in road accidents each year in Egypt. A report by the country s transport ministry has said they were the second-highest cause of death in the country. According to experts, 35,000 people are injured each year in Egypt in road accidents, which are estimated to cause annual losses of up to $350 million. Traffic regulations are often badly enforced.
