CAIRO: Venezuela plans to host the energy conference of Latin American and Arab countries early next year, said Venezuela Ambassador to Egypt Victor Ramon Carazo Thursday according to the Kuwait News Agency.

The conference will prepare for the coming Arab-Latin American summit, due in Morocco in May, 2008, Egypt s Middle East News Agency (Mena) quoted the diplomat as saying.

The last Arab-Latin American summit, hosted by Brasilia in 2005, made several achievements in the economic and cultural ties between the two sides, he pointed out.

The project to launch an Arab-Latin American library in Algiers including books in Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese will help build a cultural bridge between people of both regions, Carazo said.

The diplomat also said preparations were underway to hold the Venezuelan-Egyptian investor forum to promote joint investments in the coming period.
