Kahraba scores unforgettable goal

Egypt defeated Morocco by 1-0 at the 2017 African Cup of Nations quarterfinals. The Egyptian team qualified to the semifinals, to play against Burkina Faso on 1 February.

Both teams in the first half were cautious; this was the reason why the first half ended 0-0.

In the second half, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah started to threaten the rival’s goal; however, Morocco’s goalkeeper was attentive.

Argentinean Héctor Cúper, coach of the Egyptian team, replaced Karim Hafez with Mahmoud Kahraba in the 62nd minute.

Three minutes before the match ended, Kahraba scored a goal, ending the match in 1-0 for the Pharaohs.

The last time Egypt defeated Morocco at the African Cup of Nations was in 1986, where Egypt won by 1-0 in the semifinals. This goal was scored by Taher Abou Zeid.
