Egypt conducts ‘Al-Yarmouk 3’ military drills with Kuwaiti air forces

Egyptian and Kuwaiti air forces began on Sunday a joint military exercises, “Al-Yarmouk 3”, in Egyptian airspace, military spokesperson Tamer El-Refaei said in a statement.

The drills include performing joint combat operation drills, which involve planning and managing joint combat operations and performing offensive and defensive tasks using multi-role fighter jets.

The exercises aim to bolster joint air capabilities using air forces from the two sides and to strengthen military cooperation.

The last round of the joint Egyptian-Kuwaiti military drills, “Al-Yarmouk 2”, was held in April 2016 in Kuwait.

On Tuesday, Egypt started a joint military exercise with the Greek air and naval forces, dubbed as “Medusa 2017” in the Mediterranean Sea.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian and French naval forces conducted an exercise, “Cleopatra 2017”, early in July in the Egyptian waters of the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
