CAIRO: President Hosni Mubarak will head to Washington around the middle of August, a presidential source told AFP on Wednesday.
President Mubarak will leave for Washington in the middle of next month for talks with US President Barack Obama, the source said.
Obama delivered a landmark speech in Cairo on June 4 in which he addressed the world s Muslims.
The son of an African Muslim, Obama vowed a new beginning for the relationship between Islam and America, promising to end years of suspicion and discord in his hour-long address.
Key US regional ally Egypt is the second largest recipient of American aid after Israel. -AFP
