According to Osama Kamal, chairperson of Trade Fairs International, the organiser of the Cairo ICT 2017 conference, “creativity and innovation are the right of Africa as well as the rest of the world. So the United Nations chose Egypt to set up the first innovation factory for Africa to be Egypt’s centre of innovation and entrepreneurship on the continent.”
Minister of Communications and Information Technology Yasser El Kady said the innovation and entrepreneurship that will be launched in Egypt will be the first in the Middle East and Africa.
Egypt and Africa are witnessing a shift in services provided to citizens with the support of digital transformation and financial inclusion, and the African continent will not be able to progress without relying on its infrastructure, youth, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
What distinguishes countries of the African continent is that it is a young continent. 60% of Cairo’s population is young, which contributes to the continent being a leader in creativity and entrepreneurship.
