The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has completed the renovation of 229 branches of its total 419 branches, according to Yehia Aboul Fotouh, vice chairperson of the bank.

Aboul Fotouh explained that 21 branches have been replaced, while 160 have been renovated, next to opening 27 electronic branches across the republic.

NBE’s Alexandria Branches Director Mohy Abdul Bary had opened the bank’s branch in Montazah last week, which was relocated to its original place after the completion of renovations.

Aboul Fotouh said that this comes within the strategy followed by the NBE to modernise its branch network throughout Egypt. The bank, he explained, is keen to provide all new banking services, especially on the basis of technology and modern means of communication, in order to consolidate the principle of financial inclusion adopted by the state and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

Abdul Bary said that the Montazah branch was renovated, and that renovation work included the update and renewal of buildings and furniture in customer halls and back offices, in addition to providing new facilities for the elderly and people with special needs, as well as allocating a platinum customer area.

According to Ayman Tolan, head of the branches department at NBE, the branches have been connected through the latest means of communication, technical equipment, and effective monitoring adopted by the world’s largest institutions, in the framework of the bank’s keenness to apply the latest technologies that comply with international standards, which provide better, faster, and safer service for customers of the bank’s various branches.
