Petroleum Cooperative Society Company (COOP) has signed a protocol with the Governorate of Kafr El-Sheikh to establish seven new stations to service and supply cars with fuel, as a first stage of an investment of up to EGP 50m.
The company will employ its expertise and capabilities in supply and service stations in the implementation of the project to exploit lands in Kafr El-Sheikh, which are suitable for the establishment of stations, in order to achieve the optimal goal of taking advantage of these assets, according to COOP Head Samir Rizk.
He pointed out that the company has recently signed a protocol with Qena for the same purpose and seeks to extend cooperation with all governorates in the field of asset optimisation to establish new stations for supply and service.
The protocol was signed by Sayed Nasr, governor of Kafr El-Sheikh, and Rizk.
Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla said that his ministry is moving forward with the implementation of projects to improve and upgrade services across governorates in terms of providing citizens’ basic needs of fuel and developing the system for the distribution of petroleum products to cope with the growing population, urban expansion, and the establishment of new roads.
He pointed out the importance of the protocol signed with Governorate of Kafr El-Sheikh in supporting the oil sector’s plan to expand in the construction of stations by providing the necessary land to benefit all the concerned parties and provide distinctive services to the citizen.
He said that the ministry is seeking to sign similar agreements with all governorates to expand the establishment of fuel supply and service stations by utilising available assets.
