Manchester City won the English Premier League title on Sunday after rivals Manchester United stumbled to a 0-1 defeat against West Bromwich Albion. The Citizens become the EPL champions by a 16-point margin with five games yet to be played.

Manchester City broke many other records this season, most notably equalising Manchester United’s 2000/2001 record of winning the English Premier League title five rounds before the end of the competition.

The Sky Blues achieved 18 successive league wins this season under Pep Guardiola, the longest consecutive winning streak. The first victory was against Bournemouth and the last one was against Newcastle.

Manchester City achieved its longest-ever unbeaten run in all competitions with 28 consecutive games from April to December 2017. The club also reached its longest unbeaten run in the English Premier League with 30 consecutive games until January 2018.

Guardiola became the sixth-highest achieving coach of official titles in history, after winning his 23rd title. The Spanish coach’s honours were achieved with three clubs, including 14 titles with Barcelona, seven titles with Bayern Munich, and two titles with Manchester City.

Guardiola was the first Spanish coach to win the English Premier League title, beating other talented managers such as José Mourinho, Jürgen Klopp, and Antonio Conte.

The Citizens also completed a phenomenal 902 passes against Chelsea at the Etihad stadium—more than any other team has managed to do in a single Premier League game.
