CAIRO: Ghazl Mahalla manager Mohamed Radwan doesn’t seem convinced by his side’s relegation from the Egyptian Premier League as he implied that rival teams may have won controversially.
Mahalla needed a win at Harras Hodoud but could only manage a 1-1 draw, while Arab Contractors stunned Petrojet 3-0 at home.
Masri and Gouna, who were also fighting relegation, drew 1-1 in Port-Saied, much to the frustration of the demoted Peasants.
"I think we went down amid some controversial results," Radwan, the man who saved Contractors from relegation two seasons ago, said.
"Since when do we see Contractors beat Petrojet by three goals in Suez. The Masri-Gouna draw is also strange."
Despite their demotion, Mahalla were the only team to claim three points from champions Ahli this season. They have also beaten runners-up Zamalek.
