Egyptian Parliament Speaker Ali Abdul Aal has called upon the German Bundestag’s committee of tourism to facilitate touristic trips from Germany to Egypt and to modify the law that imposes a tax on travel tickets.

During his trip to Germany, Abdul Aal met a number of German officials to hold discussions with the German side regarding legislative issues. He also met with the president of the Bundestag, Wolfgang Schäuble, and his vice, as well as the head of the tourism committee.

Abdul Aal reviewed the formation of the Egyptian Parliament and to what extent it reflects the formations of the Egyptian community and all its parties. He also briefed the German side on the latest legislations issued by the Egyptian parliament in the past two years, such as the medical insurance law, the investment law, the law on building churches, and the law on illegal immigration.

He also stressed that the Egyptian society is now witnessing an unprecedented state of security and stability, explaining that the “disorders” that the Middle East witnessed since 2011 caused a lot of problems for the Egyptian economy, as the country received a lot of refugees from neighbouring countries.
