A new crisis has erupted between mobile phone dealers and Chinese company OPPO due to the company’s going back on its contracts with dealers.
Traders said that the company refuses to continue the contracts concluded with traders and ignored its obligations, despite many of them realising the required target of sales.
A number of traders filed a complaint to the Communications and Mobile Syndicate demanding the suspension of dealing with the company.
A hardware dealer said OPPO had retracted the sales target it had previously set at 30 devices per month and increased the number to 50 devices in exchange for installing the company’s banner on the shops’ facades.
Small traders launched an initiative to stop dealing with OPPO.
Mohamed El-Mahdy, head of the Communications and Mobile Syndicate, said that the company violated its contracts with merchants and must abide by what was agreed to with the merchants to install banners after achieving the target.
He noted that he would try to resolve the crisis between OPPO and the traders.
Amr El Hout, owner of Hout shops, urged for an escalation to take place against the company to force it to abide by its contracts.
