Israeli authorities announced arresting three graffiti artists for drawing a giant Ahd El-Tamimi picture over the Israeli West Bank barrier, Egyptian state-owned media outlet Al-Ahram stated.
The graffiti comes on the same day El-Tamimi was released from Israeli prisons after spending almost eight months for assaulting Israeli soldiers.
El-Tamimi, who has become a resistance icon in Palestine, was arrested last December after she was filmed assaulting Israeli soldiers.
The two Italian and one Palestinian artist were arrested after drawing the now famous face of El-Tamimi over the barrier.
The four-metre long graffiti depicts El-Tamimi’s famous face with her daring gaze and smiling face.
They are accused of “damaging and destroying the barrier in Beit Lahm area,” according to the statement published by Al-Ahram.
The statement added that the three men were masked while drawing the graffiti, and when theIsraeli authorities tried to arrest them, they got away with their car and were later arrested after manoeuvres.
The Israeli West Bank barrier is full of pictures of activists and Palestinian resistance idols, and 17-year old El-Tamimi is currently added to their graffiti list.
One of the Italian artists identified himself as Agostino Chirwin, who is also known as Jorit Agoch, an international famous street artist who has painted murals in different countries across the globe. He wrote on his official Facebook page that he is requesting aid to get out of Israeli arrest.
