Earlier, the Egyptian Medical and Pharmacists’ Syndicates expressed their concern over the draft law, stressing that research and medical interventions must be conducted in accordance to international standards, to ensure the safety of Egyptian patients.

The clinical trials draft law, aimed to regulate medical research in Egypt, was approved by the parliament in May.
