The Korean Cultural Centre (KCC) organised a Korean food demonstration for Egyptians, in the presence of Soha Bahat, adviser to the Minister of Tourism, Hala El-Khateeb, general manager of Egyptian Tourism Chamber Union, and food media representatives including actor and presenter of the food TV programme Al-Akeel, Murad Makram last week.

“Tonight, we are taking on the theme of food which, I believe, everybody here loves. I am also happy to share this pleasant outdoor evening with all of you,” said the Korean ambassador to Egypt Yeo-Cheol Yoon.

“One of the surprises I had since my arrival in Cairo was that there are so many Egyptians who enjoy Korean cuisine. Because I thought that Korean food can be too spicy and may not suit the taste of non-Koreans,” noted the ambassador, adding that “Korean food like kimchi and other fermented foods are good for health and utilises natural flavours with colourful presentations.”

The ambassador indicated that he invited three experts to present the true Korean cuisine and show the audience how they can make use one of their Korean favourites dishes from Egyptian chick peas ‘Hummus.’
