On Tuesday, the matches of the fifth round of the UEFA Champions League start. The round would determine -to a great extent- the teams qualified for the round of 16, as Real Madrid plays against Italian A.S Roma in the 7th group.

The Spanish team tops the group with the difference of nine points, which is the same difference between the team and A.S Roma. Revenge is sought against the royal team after it managed to rip apart the net of Roma with three clean goals in the first leg.

This will be Santiago Solari’s first European match as a leader of the technical body of Real Madrid.

Roma players’ morale is similar to that of Real Madrid players, as Roma suffered a great defeat by one goal against Udinese on Saturday.

In another Spanish-Italian derby match, Valencia plays against Juventus in the Allianz Stadium within the matches of the eighth group. The Italian team tops the group with nine points and hopes to collect the match’s points in order to officially qualify for the round of 16. On the other hand, Valencia ranks third with five points.

English Manchester United hosts its Swiss counterpart BSC Young Boys in the Old Trafford stadium. Manchester comes within the group with seven points. If it won the match points with Jevuntus, it will officially qualify to the round of 16 with the Italian team.

The other pole of Manchester flies to France to meet Lyon in the Parc Olympique Lyonnais within the competitions of the sixth group. Within the matches of the same group, Ukranian Shakhtar Donetsk will play against German Hoffenheim in the Rhein-Neckar-Arena stadium. The home team comes in third place with three points, while Shakhtar comin at the bottom of the group with two points.

Finally, the German giant, Bayren Munich, will meet its Portuguese Benifica in the Allianz Arena. The Bavarian team tops the group with 10 points.

At 7:55, Dutch Ajax will be playing against AEK Athens.
