Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, headed on Tuesday to Serbia on an official visit to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries at all levels.

The visit came in light of the completion of more than 110 years of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Serbia.

Shoukry held meetings with his counterpart Ivica Dačić, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, and Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, to discuss opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The minister also attended a round-table session during the visit with a group of members of major Serbian companies and businesspersons, to promote economic relations, trade exchange and review investment opportunities available for Serbian companies in Egypt.

Minister Shoukry discussed with the Serbian side regional and international situations of common concern.

A few days ago, Shoukry returned from a two-day visit to Sofia, the capital and largest city in Bulgaria, where he met with the Bulgarian president and other officials, as well as signed an agreement for the establishment of a joint committee between the two countries.
