The Knowledge International University (KIU) has opened the door for applications for 2019/20, Ehab Salama, CEO of El Sewedy Education, said on Wednesday, explaining the university will offer scholarships in September 2019 of up to EGP 100,000, in addition to other scholarships specialised in academics or sports.
He added that KIU was built according to the latest architectural models, on a total area of 50 feddan, including administrative and residential buildings, in addition to training facilities and science labs, as well as green playgrounds. The university presents a unique model for developed educational services based on the latest educational methods. It hosts branches of international universities that allow studying in their most distinguished majors. The university’s capacity is 15,000 students. The first phase of the campus, built on an area of 27,000 sqm, is expected to be opened in September 2019.
The KIU will have include branches of the best universities in the world, including the British Coventry University which will give certificates in engineering, computing, design, and media as of September.
Coventry University was founded in 1843 and is one of the best universities in the UK. It ranked 13th in the UK (University Guide 2019 of the Guardian) and ranked Golden in Teaching and Learning Excellence (TEF 2017). Coventry University is renowned for its student participation, as it has won the title “University of the Year” in student experience, according to the University Guide of the Times and the Sunday Times 2019.
Salama stressed that students enrolled in the Coventry University’s branch in the KIU will receive the same education and curricula taught in the UK. They will also receive an ID card and e-mail address from the Coventry University as well as the opportunity to study a semester of a full academic year in the UK.
“Our main objective is to contribute to achieving Egypt’s 2030 Vision for sustainable development by improving the quality of higher education and providing young people with the necessary skills and expertise to start their career in the labour market, whose requirements have varied considerably from the past,” Salama said.
He stressed that studying, this year, will begin in three colleges in the Coventry University’s branch, which includes nine majors in computer sciences, engineering, and media. The online applications were already opened on Tuesday.
