Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received on Tuesday his Ghanaian counterpart, Nana Akufo-Addo, in Cairo to discuss the latest developments in Sudan and Libya, and increasing bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Al-Sisi stressed the depth of the historical relations between the two countries. He also highlighted the importance of continuing to enhance trade exchange and mutual investments.
He also praised the growing cooperation between Egypt and Ghana in the field of capacity building through the various programmes organised by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development in the framework of Egypt’s belief in the importance of investing in human resources in the continent.
For his part, Akufo-Addo stressed his country’s appreciation for its distinguished relations with Egypt. He also expressed his country’s keenness to develop bilateral relations in various fields, especially trade and economic cooperation. He praised Egyptian companies operating in construction, energy, and mining sectors in Ghana.
Meanwhile, President Al-Sisi received Todd Kalawak, the adviser to the President of South Sudan for security affairs. The meeting discussed boosting relations between the two countries, and latest updates in South Sudan.
Al-Sisi stressed Egypt’s support for stability and security in South Sudan, as well as enhancing the economic situation.
During the meeting, Kalawak delivered a letter from the South Sudanese President, Salva Kiir Mayardit, to President Al-Sisi.
