Under the patronage of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, the 6th annual Egypt Automotive summit will be held in Cairo on 10 December in the presence of the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Finance, Military Production, and Public Enterprise Sector.
The summit comes a few days after President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi had invited international car companies to invest in Egypt, in line with the state’s keenness to promote and localise the car industry.
The 6th summit enjoys wide Arab and international participation from the automotive industry and business community interested in the Egyptian market, a number of ambassadors and foreign experts, in addition to government officials and heads of bodies most involved in the automotive market.
Mohamed Aboul Fotouh, Egypt Automotive CEO, said that this year’s summit is receiving great attention from the government to prepare a new path for the localisation and advancement of the automotive and feeder industries, keeping abreast with the latest global developments in the electric car industry.
He added that the market looks forward to uncovering the government’s orientations on the progress and development of local manufacturing and how to increase exports in production inputs, in accordance with clear incentive policies that will enable us to achieve real and noticeable development in the industry’s future.
The conference will also discuss ways to deepen local industrialisation and the demands of the private sector from the government and various authorities to implement a model of partnership and cooperation to prepare for the next phase of market.
The conference will deal with the issues of consumer protection and the new traffic law as well as the development of technical education in order to keep upgrading the Egyptian car market.
