A new service for electricity bill checking and payment from home has been launched by e-payment company, Fawry, in cooperation with the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC). Using the Fawry Pay service, bill payments can be made online through the EEHC website.
The service allows users to enter their mobile number, choose the electricity distribution company they are contracted with, and enter their electronic payment number, which can be found on the bill payment stub.
Khaled El-Dastawy, EEHC Vice President, said that electricity distribution companies in South Cairo, North Cairo, Central Egypt, North Delta, South Delta, Suez Canal, Upper Egypt, Beheira, and Alexandria can all receive payments online via Fawry.
Fawry CEO Ashraf Sabry said the company’s primary goal is to provide different payment channels to its users, in addition to allowing payments through the EEHC website using credit cards via Fawry Pay.
The service also allows customers to pay using 15 other options, including Vodafone Cash, Orange Cash, Etisalat Cash, as well as digital payment methods offered by Egypt’s banks. The digital payments method runs alongside using the 10,000 ATMs and 141,000 post offices that take utility bill payments.
Fawry will also soon launch a new service to recharge electricity smart cards online, with further details to be announced in the near future.
