The White House has been discussing the possibility of offering US treasury bonds as part of efforts to combat the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, said Larry Kudlow, economic adviser to President Donald Trump
He told CNBC that this was a time to sell bonds to raise cash for the coronavirus relief efforts, with the idea of a “war bond” as “great”.
“This would be a long-term investment into the future of American health, safety and the economy,” he told reporters at the White House, “We’re just looking at it … let’s see where it leads.”
Kudlow also said he does not think the Federal Reserve was finished with its efforts to help mitigate the impact of the coronavirus.
