Instant messaging app ToTok has launched a virtual Ramadan Forum to encourage users to have fun whilst they stay safe at homes during the coronavirus pandemic.
The campaign, that will last for the duration of Ramadan, enables the app’s users to participate in fun competitions to win amazing prizes, whilst also enjoying content specially designed for the holy month.
The app has designed two competitions specifically for food lovers, one of which asks for the best Ramadan recipe, that begins on 4 May. The other competition asks for the best Ramadan dish, and which will begin on 14 May.
At the end of the competition, the 5 entries in each of the two competitions with the highest numbers of votes will have the opportunity to win electronic devices by Huawei. These include its newest P40 Pro smartphone, a Huawei smartwatch GT 2, and the latest version of Huawei’s FreeBuds wireless headset.
Users can now also sending Ramadan greetings to their friends and family members in their in-app conversations using the emoji “Ramadan Kareem”. The app’s news feature gives users the latest developments related to the holy month, such as suhour, iftar, and prayer timings, news on social initiatives, and other items.
Users can communicate with family and friends as usual via HD video calls and group video calls, especially as social distancing and lockdown rules still apply in many parts of the world.
ToTok co-founder Giacomo Ziani said, “On the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, we wanted to add a distinct and fun character to our celebrations of this cherished occasion.”
