The price of the US dollar continued to appreciate against the Egyptian pound on Thursday, registering EGP 16.1489 to buy and EGP 16.2489 to sell at the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). Thursday’s figures showed a 12 piaster rise, up from EGP 16.0286 to buy and EGP 16.1286 to sell on Wednesday.
The appreciation in the US dollar also pushed the prices of Arab and foreign currencies up against the pound, as the price of the Euro reached EGP 18.1449 to buy and EGP 18.2605 to sell. The price of the Pound Sterling reached EGP 20.2588 to buy and EGP 20.3794 to sell.
The price of the Swiss Franc reached EGP 16.8323 to buy and EGP 16.9436 to sell, with the Japanese Yen recording EGP 14.8305 to buy and EGP 14.9264 to sell.
The price of the Saudi Riyal reached EGP 4.3001 to buy and EGP 4.3290 to sell, while the Kuwaiti Dinar recorded EGP 52.3787 to buy and EGP 52.8557 to sell. The price of the UAE dirham reached EGP 4.3960 to buy and EGP 4.4241 to sell, while the Chinese Yuan recorded EGP 2.2687 to buy and EGP 2.2833 to sell.
